Significant Changes to Merck’s Prescription Drug Program
As a leading pharmaceutical company, it’s important for Merck
to provide competitive prescription drug benefits. However, it’s also critical
for the Company to continue to manage these benefits appropriately. Leveraging
the capabilities of Merck-Medco, the nation’s largest pharmaceutical benefits
manager, offers Merck the opportunity to continue our leadership in this
area.
Starting in 2002, Merck
will be making changes to our prescription drug coverage and adopting certain
pharmaceutical benefit and health management programs used by other major
Fortune 100 Merck-Medco customers. Highlights of these changes are provided
